Hardy St. Aidan 3/8 Fly Reel - 165.00 USD
From Hardys Lightweight Series, the St. Aidan was a Sea Bass or Steelhead reel so Im told. The 3/8 size would hold up to that argument and in todays terminology, I would have to say this is a size fly reel. Reel is in perfect working order and only has a few blemishes on it.a very useable fly reel indeed! No warps or wobbles in the spool (its dead straight!) and the handle is not wobbly or worn out. Spool release work perfectly too. Comes with a red and tan colored Hardy case. I havent seen many of the red ones as most of them seem to be blue nowadays. Hardy Longstone - Old - - 110.00 USD
This is an old one! Not exactly sure how old it is, but its old! Reel is in useable shape except needs a clicker spring. We have not cleaned up this reel in any way for fear of removing any of the old patina from it. Spool only has a minor swoop to it (not enough to make it rub) and turns freely on the spindle. Handle knobs are not wobbly or loose and spin freely on the posts, and the spool brake functions properly too. Reel foot is of the oooold variety, being 1/2 in length and heavily ribbed on the one side. This is a collectors peice for sure.its possible to fish it but I think its better suited to the fireplace mantle or showroom. Note: shipping may be adjusted to reflect proper insurance and locality. Hardy Perfect Mk II 7/8 - SOLD! - 1.00 USD
Sorry, folks, this reel has SOLD! Heres a real jem of an old fly reel. the Hardy Perfect. This reel has a spool that measures 7/8 across and is about 1/8 deep at the flanges. The reel is in great condition for its age and has no cracks or dents that we can see. On the face of the spool reads Pat. Nos. 24245 & 9261, Duplicated Mark II, Made by Hardy Bros. Ltd, Alnwick England, and in the center it reads The Perfect Fly Reel. There is some fly line on the reel, I dont beleive it is as old as the reel. Nevertheless its older line. The spool does not rub and has very little play in the spindle. The black (plastic?) handle is a little bit loose and Im sure it could be tightened up if you wanted to actually fish with this old timer. Reel foot is brass and is ribbed on one side. Foot is straight and not curled up at the ends or been filed off like so many have that Ive seen. Please note that shipping will most likely be adjusted to reflect proper insurance and locality.
